Michelle Reed is a certified Pilates instructor with Pilates Instructor Academy in all-apparatus. She worked in three different Pilates studios in the U.S. before moving to beautiful Altea, Spain, which has her heart. Michelle is also trained in yoga, massage, and nutritional health coaching. She is the best-selling author of 6 books and is a former journalist and TV personality.
After two giant cysts in her spine temporarily paralyzed her, Michelle discovered that private Pilates Reformer sessions were the only thing that truly helped rehabilitate her. She went from learning to walk again, to private sessions, to group classes, and finally completed an arduous Pilates teacher training via Pilates Instructor Academy (500 hours) and mentoring with both Belleair Fitness and Pilates Grup in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she later taught group classes and private sessions. She filled in as manager when her supervisor was out sick, as Michelle had owned and managed a yoga studio previously in California.
Michelle soon became the strongest and most fit she's EVER been in her entire life, and she discovered that teaching Pilates was her life's purpose and passion (along with writing books).
Michelle was moving her commercial grade Elina Reformer with Tower into her home in Altea when she decided to ask Fabi of Fabi's Fitness to help her and her husband lift the heavy boxes. Fabi was recovering from some of his own back injuries, and offered to let her rent a large vacant room inside his gym!
Michelle has formally launched Mpower Pilates at its new gym location! We recently added Sports Massages as an offering, and eventually we will offer yoga classes as well (when it's not so hot!).
